Wooden windows have a tendency to age badly and maintenance can be an expensive and tiring business. The solution? Substitute those wooden windows for a weather-resistant alternative that looks just like timber such as a Rosewood colour on white UPVC windows. Rosewood creates the impression that these windows have been in place for many years, but they’re actually brand new and happen to have an ageless finish that you would think was wood-based. Traditional white was reserved for the inside of the window frames.
The windows have also bolstered security at the farmhouse-style property as they feature a secure locking system and multi-point locking mechanism. When locked, these keep the windows firmly in place and the glass is internally glazed to further frustrate thieves. Maximum energy efficiency was another important consideration in this project, resulting in the inclusion of A+ rated glass. This will massively restrict heat loss and promote solar gain to substantially reduce the cost of fuel bills, helping the occupants lower their carbon footprint too. New French doors, in a dual finish of white and rosewood, linking the upstairs to a balcony area will supply a similar level of security and energy efficiency when closed. Any headaches caused by wood are banished by rosewood.
